Ministry of the Eucharist (Extraordinary Ministers)
Extraordinary ministers are special ministers of Holy Communion. They are extraordinary because they assist the ordinary minister, “priest”, in the distribution of the Eucharist. It is an honor to serve humbly in this ministry.
Furthermore, to be an extraordinary minister is to become what “you give”. The minister of Communion must become and live as the Body of Christ that he/she gives to others. Through his/her humble service as a minister of Communion, God unites him/her to his/her fellow members of the Body of Christ.
