Dear Friends of Saint Charles Caritas: Charity on the Border

 Greetings to all!

 Thank you very much to all our friends who supported last month's Caritas Day! We cannot do the Caritas without you.

 May 17 & 18, is the Caritas Day. The nuns will be helping us on May 18. Please come by and see all the volunteers and nuns at all exit doors.

 May 24, Saturday is the Costco buy of food and cleaning products for charities from J.

 May 31, Saturday is the bagging of food for 250 poor families residing at the TJ dumpsite. We need baby food, bars of soap, shampoos and toiletries for this Project# 13

 April 2008 Distribution of basic food, cleaning products and basic necessities:

$500.00    Birthline, Chula Vista

$500.00    Pastoral Charity Fund, distribution at the discretion of Fr. Ruggere, pastor

$218.70    Project# 12 TJ dumpsite, oatmeal for the poor (500 lbs)

$4,252.07  Total distribution for the month of April 2008

We would like to thank the corps of volunteers for last months Caritas Day & Costco buy of food:

Diane Martin, took care of all masses on Sunday plus Saturday.

Cecilio & Lolita Salamanca took care of the Sunday, 5pm collection

Aida Mata, took care of the 5pm mass, Saturday

The nuns and the volunteers: Sister Paula, Sister Edie, Sister Amalia, Sister Isaura, Sister Socorro, Sister Elvira, Sister Fedilia, Sister Graciela, Sister Leticia, Sister Alvira, Sister Eudes.

Janiley Camarista, audited the collection, and our beloved volunteers: Christine Phillips, Marina Vera, Elaine Rechs, Jack Stroh (bought lunches for the volunteers), Lupe Zamora, Ruth & John McDormott,  & Evelyn Degano.
