Dear Friends of Saint Charles
Caritas: Charity on the Border:
May your
4th of July be blessed and full of joy!
It was a very fulfilling
experience for us to distribute food at the TJ
dump site residence. These are the poorest of
the poor so close to our border. When we arrived
a the clinic, the people and children were
waiting for us lining up to receive food from
the Caritas. It was hot and the people and
children were so patient to have this food. They
were very thankful to us and to you who
contributed to this Project# 13. You had to be
there to see and feel the need of these poor
people.
THANKS A MILLION
to our donors and volunteers! A family donated
the 1000 lbs of oatmeal. Each family received
more or less 4 lbs. Also we distributed: 750 lbs
of rice, 500 lbs of beans, 250 lbs of brown
sugar, a bag of food (in a bag were 13 items of
assorted canned and packages of food), bars of
soap, shampoo, used clothes. For the children:
Snicker Bars, candies, a package of cookies, and
assorted cookies (from Guadalupana).
Thank you to our 12 volunteers:
Richard Palmer, Susan Field (from north park),
Joe & Barbara Miller (spent their day with us on
sabbatical leave from San Luis Obispo), Cecilio
Salamanca, Ed Vinluan, Alex Rullan, Elsa
Guitierez, Lupe Zamora, Elvia Valdivieso and

do. It always feel good to be there to
distribute these foods.
