Dear Friends of Saint Charles
Caritas, Charity on the Border:
I
hope you will have a restful weekend!
This
coming Saturday & Sunday, July 19 & 20
is Saint Charles Caritas Day. All nuns and
volunteers will be at the exit doors. We are all
volunteers and 100% of your
donations will be used to buy basic food and
cleaning products for the charities in Tijuana
run by the religious sisters and 2 in San
Diego. We need
volunteers for the 5pm masses on Saturday &
Sunday.
The volunteers work for the poor
and the poorest of the poor in the dump site TJ.
We
would like to share this quote from Saint James
2:12-17
"Always speak and act as men
destined for judgment under the law of freedom.
Merciless is the judgment on the man who has not
shown mercy; but mercy triumphs over judgment.
My brothers, what good is
it to profess faith without practicing it? Such
faith has no power to save one, has it? If a
brother or sister has nothing to wear and no
food for the day, and you say to them, "Good-bye
and good luck! Keep warm and well fed,"
but do not need their bodily
needs, what good is that? So it is with faith
that does nothing in practice. It is thoroughly
lifeless"
The
Costco buy of food for these charities are going
to be on Saturday, July 26th at 9:30am.
We need volunteers!
